About Athol Energy
Athol Energy is a solar permit design and engineering desk that works for installers. We draw the plan sets, coordinate the PE seal when a jurisdiction requires one, and prepare the interconnection paperwork that has to agree with those drawings.

What we do
The work splits into a few clear lanes: permit design for AHJ submittal, PE stamping when a licensed engineer has to sign, interconnection packages for the utility, and as-built drawings for closeout.
Larger jobs go through commercial and utility design, where the permit clock and the utility study clock run at the same time. Early sales proposals are drawn so a signed deal can become a permit set instead of a redraw.
How we work
One desk owns a job from intake through PTO (permission to operate). That means one point of contact, one revision log, and no handoff where the drawings and the utility application start telling different stories.
Intake is deliberately short: survey or site photos, equipment list, AHJ name, utility, and the week trucks need to roll. Incomplete intakes get a checklist rather than a stalled draft.
Where we support projects
Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut are the core desk. New York and Pennsylvania run on the same queue, so a crew working several states does not need to split vendors.
State and city pages under service areas cover local permitting notes, but every project still gets a fresh review rather than a template.
Practical FAQs
Is Athol Energy NABCEP certified? No. NABCEP is an installer and educator credential, and it does not replace a professional engineer seal. When a town asks for a stamp, it wants a licensed PE on the sheets, which is what we coordinate.
Do you work directly with homeowners? No. We work for installers, EPCs, and developers. Your customer sees your company on the paperwork.
How do we start? Use the contact page, upload files, and note your target submit date. Scope and timing are confirmed before drafting begins.
How we protect install dates
Failed inspections idle trucks and burn trust. Review here focuses on constructability and checklist completeness before you submit.
Assumptions are documented early so responsibility stays clear between survey, design, and field. The goal is approval on the first or second pass.
